Description: This qualification provides the skills required for competence in remedial massage practice and practitioners at this level may be self employed as independent practitioners or may work within a larger health service. It covers the provision of remedial massage treatment to clients with specific needs such as injury management, rehabilitation, palliative care, aged care, women and children. Practitioners at this level may supervise other massage therapists.
This qualification is the current industry standard required to practice remedial massage. Practitioners with this qualification may be self-employed as independent therapists or may work within a larger health clinic.
This course covers the provision of remedial massage treatment to clients with specific needs such athlete’s or those affected by chronic disease and is an increase in professionalism from generic massage programs or services. Diploma graduates are educated on developing their own business and the legal and ethical requirements of the remedial industry.
Please note that this qualification is taught and assessed holistically. This means that there is no exit point until the completion of the course and Statement of Attainment cannot be issued until all assessments have been submitted and deemed competent. Diploma graduates are eligible for professional association membership, required for approved health provider status with Medibank Private.

Students are required to have a minimum of 16 hours face to face with the addition of on-campus practical clinical hours in semester 2.
To graduate with a Diploma of Remedial Massage from HETC’s accredited massage course, students must complete all assessments, along with 200 supervised on-campus clinic practical hours.
