SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management

AEST 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday

Graduates of HETC's Diploma of Hospitality Mangement will be able to enter the Hospitality Industry with a wide range of essential hard and soft skills. Motivated HETC Graduates will possess a broad range of well-developed hospitality skills, in conjunction with highly-effective people management skills. 

HETC Graduates are will ideally be able to use discretion and sound judgement, and have a sound working knowledge of industry operations. Graduates are also likely to be work well independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of beneficial operational business decisions.

HETC's Diploma of Hospitality Management has been crafted for students wishing to gain the valuable skills and knowledge required to work at a high-quality level within the Hospitality Industry. A Diploma of Hospitality Management from HETC will give students the education needed to own and manage a food business, manage a department within a globally recognised hotel, or own and operate a small hotel/motel. 

HETC's Diploma of Hospitality Management is designed to cater to the needs of global high-quality accommodation and hospitality brands. This program aims to provide its students with a robust range of skills, knowledge and work experience to confidently succeed in a hospitality career.


What Does A Diploma of Hospitality Management Graduate Look Like?

Training and assessment will take place in HETC's new industry-focused Gold Coast campus with innovative training facilities designed to equip all students with a real-world understanding of their training. Classroom environments are designed around the millennial learner with state of the art training material.

The theory education is reinforced through the use of simulated work environments equipped with tools and resources which meet the requirements of the hospitality industry and match the relevant unit of competency. Depending on the unit, this may include workplace policies and procedures, compliant signage, appropriate measuring implements, appliances, fact sheets, and health and safety garments.

Students will be required to supply their own tablet PC / Laptop for training & assessment.

Duration & Delivery

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however prospective students wishing to undertake this course with HETC will be required to complete an entry test and demonstrate Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to ACSF Entry Level 4.

Global internship opportunities are built into each Hospitality Course, providing students with valuable work experience and first-hand industry knowledge.

This program provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or business owner.  The student may choose to specialise in an industry sector such as accommodation services, cookery, food and beverage and gaming.


Recognition of Prior Learning

HETC will place students in guaranteed work placement within internationally recognised hotel brands. These work placement opportunities will provide students with exposure to a real-world environment allowing them to practice the skills and education they have obtained at HETC's Gold Coast Campus.

HETC holds the required public liability, professional indemnity, and voluntary workers’ cover insurance to cover all on-the-job training and assessment activities for students to meet the requirements of this qualification.

Hospitality Management Career Prospects

Full Integration of Industry & Education

Students who have previously undertaken study with an RTO and been deemed competent in any units which are contained in this qualification can apply for Credit Transfer (CT).

HETC's Gold Coast Campus is fully equipped to mirror a high-end hotel interior, allowing students to learn how to service customers at every point in the customers journey.

Maximum 25 students per class, 100 students per intake

Domestic Students

This course is designed for students looking to start a successful career within a 5 or 6 star hotel. The unit selection covers all departments, including food and beverage, housekeeping and front office with a specialisation in Silver Service food & beverage.

Instalment 1  - $1,500 paid on enrolment

Instalment 2 - $3,000 paid by course start date

Instalment 3 - $3,000 paid by the first day of week 20

Instalment 4 - $2,500 paid by the first day of week 40

Higher Level Skills

Non-Concession $5,905 (Co-Contribution)

Upfront Payment     $10,000     OR

Concession $4,676 (Co-Contribution)

Total cost $10,000 with $4,095 provided by Higher Learning Skills funding and the remaining $5,905 Co-Contribution fee.
