CHCDEV003 – Work within a Community Development Framework  

Course Delivery

The Diploma of Community Services is provided via online / distance education. Beginners computing skills are required. Students are recommended to spend around 25 hours per week study. As part of this course, students are required to complete at least 100 hours of work placement. HETC will assist students to find a suitable community services workplace in their local area. Learners will need to have access to a computer with internet capabilities.

Blended Delivery

The Diploma of Community Service is delivered using a blended approach, which includes online study and workplace learning.

  • Students are recommended to spend around 25 hours per week in comprehending knowledge and completing related activities and assessments from the textbooks and online materials provided via Moodle;
  • Online chatting rooms are open four days per week, with two 2-hour sessions available each day for students to communicate with the trainers regarding learning and assignment issues as well as other concerns;
  • Students must ensure at least 100 hours of work placement. The number of hours students spend on-site per week will vary by site and project needs. Students should make sure altogether they completed at least 100 hours of work in total.
